Artist Statement

My practice is rooted in the study of Mesoamerican visual language and the experience of learning from cultural distance. This relationship has shaped a visual approach centered on radical joy, radical knowledge, and the continuity of ancestral narratives across contemporary contexts.

I work across painting, illustration, and design, developing visual systems that draw from reconstructed iconography, hybrid motifs, and speculative world-building. This aesthetic lens extends into my commercial work, where I use composition, color, and symbolic language to create imagery that is playful, research-based, and emotionally resonant.

Teaching, collaboration, and community exchange have become essential to how the work develops over time. Process, experimentation, and intuition drive the evolution of each project bridging historical reference with contemporary form. My goal is to create visual environments that invite audiences to engage with identity, memory, and imagination as intertwined, dynamic, and ongoing.
